Basic Causes of Psoriasis

Psoriasis Controlled with Ultra BalmPsoriasis is a chronic, inflammatory skin condition. It is understood that the immune system and family history can play roles in its development. The immune system is somehow triggered, which causes a series of events, including inflammation and acceleration of skin cell growth. Instead of falling off (shedding), the cells pile up on the surface of the skin, forming psoriatic plaques.

People with psoriasis typically experience patches of thick, red skin covered with silvery scales called plaques.

There are many kinds of psoriasis. The most common is Plaque Psoriasis.  Other common types are Scalp Psoriasis and Nail Psoriasis. While there is no known cure for psoriasis, there are remedies that can help reduce and/or alleviate the condition. For many people psoriasis is a social stigma that causes pain, itching and emotional pain as well.(Also read “Basic Causes of Dry Skin” in our Suggested Home Remedies for DRY, ITCHY SKIN, Normal to Severe, on this website).

Basic Causes of Ezcema

Happy Family Free of EzcemaThe symptoms of Eczema, if one is not sure of the condition, are red itchy skin patches, which sometimes burn and ooze. There are two main causes of Eczema. One is contact with irritants that have high PH Levels, from chemicals, powders, soaps, detergents, cleaning agents and perfumes. The second is allergy to a certain food; material such as nickel, chrome, rubber, wool, latex or possibly even hay fever. Eczema can be further irritated by extreme changes in the weather; heat, cold, humidity etc. Babies and small children are sufferers of this condition, which is very uncomfortable as well as embarrassing as they get older. Ultra Balm's Suggested Home Remedies

Female Beautiful Mature Happy Ultra Balm UserWhere possible, it is best not to use any sort of soap or detergent on the skin at all.  It would be better if one could clean their skin using whole oats by wrapping a hand full of whole oats in a cheese cloth or fine netting, tied with a string or rubber band. Soak the bag for 15 minutes before use. Use whole oats in the bathtub by bathing with it in cool or warm (never hot) water.  Since the goal of any eczema is to restore hydration to the skin this is the perfect body scrub for anyone with this condition as it will sooth as well as restore the skins hydration. It helps bring down the inflammation from scratching, and helps the itching as well.

Immediately after washing, when your pores are still open, whether you’ve washed with whole oats or mild unscented soap, lightly pat (not rub) your skin dry and then immediately apply Ultra Balm to the affected area. Ultra Balm as it penetrates deep into the skin restores the skins proper acid covering so that the skin returns to the PH level necessary to keep the skin hydrated, moist and protected from germs and infections. Note: It would a great help to keep the air in your home moist at a humidity level between 45-55% to further keep your skin from drying out. Try to wear loose cotton clothes vs wool or synthetic clothing so that your clothes do not rub against your skin. All clothing should be washed with a mild soap, not a detergent; you want one without fragrance, or colorant, as these are irritants to this condition.

If you follow the above, you should notice a change within days or even hours, and you will immediately be much more comfortable.

Basic Causes of Dry Skin

Mature Couple with Beautiful SKinDry skin can be caused by Internal and/or External Factors. There are several Internal factors that can greatly contribute to dry skin; Dehydration: Many people do not drink an adequate amount of water in a day. This can increase the risk of dry skin. While one is healing their dry skin they should drink extra water to promote faster healing. Hormones and Age: As one’s body changes many imbalances in the body can develop, including hormone imbalance as well as metabolic changes. These changes greatly affect ones skin. External Factors, as well as Extreme Weather Conditions and Over-Exposure to the Sun, are Chemicals, Soaps and Detergents which are the primary external reasons for Dry Skin. The unsuspecting villain however of many Skin Outbreaks and Dermatitis is plain ole SOAP. Most people wash their hands with soap 3X a day and most soaps have a high PH level of 8 to 11. Our outer layer of skin operates best with its PH between 4.0 to 6.0 so that using these high PH level soaps may clean the skin but also dry it out as well. Since it takes about 14 hours for the body to replace the acid covering on the skin, that soaps etc., remove, there is no chance that the skin can keep hydrated with the proper PH and fight back against the constant chemicals that are being put onto the skin. A low PH on the skin (or what’s called a hydrated skin) is what protects the skin from germs and fungus. The body produces the optimum skin covering when it is functioning normally and remains at the proper PH level unless tampered with by chemicals, detergents and high PH Soaps.

Basic Causes of Dry Cracked Heels & Feet

Woman Rubbing Soft Beautiful FeetBasically Cracked Feet and Heels are caused by external factors, with the major cause being your everyday soap that has a high PH of 9-11. Soaps with a High PH remove the acid mantel(the protective covering that the body normally creates & excretes thru the skin). This acid mantel keeps your skin from becoming dry and is very important not only for the health of your feet but for your health in general. Sweat can cause germs and fungus, which in turn can also make your feet dry and cracked unless your body has a sufficient amount of acid mantel to prevent it. Skin, with the proper PH gives a sufficient protective covering that prevents fungus and germs from entering the body and also helps to prevent Dry Cracked Heels and Feet. Fungus and Germs need moist heat to grow and cannot live in an acidic environment.

Ultra Balm's Suggested Home Remedies

Pumica Stone Feet Preparing for Ultra Balm lotion.First you’ll need a pumice stone or a pumice sponge.  If you don't have a pumice sponge, you may use a loofah sponge The stone or sponge is to remove the "dead skin cells" that appear as white or gray callous on the heel.  In order for Ultra Balm to deeply penetrate and heal, it is necessary to start with the removal of these cells.  It is best done when you have just showered or bathed or after you just soaked your feet in warm water for 15 minutes before bedtime. For best results, instead of using ordinary soap( that has a high PH), take 3 tablespoons of whole oats and soak them in warm water in a cheesecloth or gauze-like material. When the skin is warm and open, and the dead cells are moist, the dead cells are easily removed.  Gently rub the affected area with the stone, or sponge until you start to see some pink skin.  Note: not too deep, as the skin under the dead cells is often very tender or even raw.  Now dry and apply Ultra Balm to the affected area, and rub it in as best you can. Upon going to bed put on a thin pair of socks to keep the Balm penetrating throughout the night. Doing this on a daily basis for a week-ten days will remove all the "dead cells", will heal the dryness, lines and cracks in your feet and they will look and feel great!

Remember, be cautious the first few times. If you pumice too deeply, you may have sore heals for a few days.  It is best to take it slowly at first.  You have had these heels for quite a while, so heal them correctly, and give yourself time.

Suggested Home Remedies for: Dry, Cracked Hands & Fingers

Basic Causes of Dry Cracked Hands & Fingers

Happy Mature Woman Cracked hands and Fingers are more common than you would think.  There are many factors that cause this; common is the "Chemical burn" or "Alkaline burn". Not too many realize that in making paper products (cardboard and compressed board) there are chemicals used in the making of these that are very hard on the skin.  Alkaline burns are from detergents and other cleaning products as well as hand sanitizers.  Cracks in the finer tips are very painful, and annoying, and particles catch in the cracks, and cause pain.

In addition to the above, cold weather, frequent hand washing with your common everyday soaps, laundering with today’s popular detergents and all common cleaning supplies are additional significant contributing factors to the condition. Basically the condition is caused by external factors. Your everyday soaps, for example, have a high PH of 9-11. Soaps with this High PH remove the protective covering that the body normally creates & excretes thru the skin. thus causing your skin to become dry. (Also read “Basic Causes of Dry Skin” in our Suggested Home Remedies for DRY, ITCHY SKIN, Normal to Severe, on this website).

Ultra Balm's Suggested Home Remedies

Two Thumbs Up for Ultra BalmIf you have severe cracked hands, and lots of dead cells (white calloused skin) it may take you a few weeks to get stable relief as the dead skin cells prevent the penetration of most creams into the skin. Ultra Balm penetrates better then your name brand creams and soaking hands in warm water.  Gently, using a wash cloth to remove dead cells before applying Ultra Balm will significantly help in the removal of these cells and make Ultra Balm more effective. Note: When the skin is injured, the body tends to try to protect the area by very fast development of these cells. It is only trying to put a coating on the skin due to constant attack from the chemicals. This is nature’s way of protecting itself from the constant barrage of these chemicals.

When one has dry cracked hands and fingers, it is best to really rub in Ultra Balm for several minutes. The rubbing does two things:  one is that it helps get the cream into the skin, and the other is that it helps bring circulation into the affected area for faster healing.  Where dry- cracked hands are present, 2X a day application is necessary to promote the initial healing.  Since Ultra Balm has a moisture barrier, it does not wash off in water.  If you wash your hands with soap or hand sanitizer many times a day you may have to use a small amount. more often. to protect the injured skin.

Before going to bed apply Ultra Balm to your hands and fingers. Gently apply just a small amount and put on a thin pair of gloves (that are made for this purpose) to keep your balm penetrating throughout the night.

After a few weeks you should notice a marked difference in the appearance and feel of your hands. They will be soft and moisturized and beautiful to the touch.
