Basic Causes of Psoriasis
Psoriasis is a chronic, inflammatory skin condition. It is understood that the immune system and family history can play roles in its development. The immune system is somehow triggered, which causes a series of events, including inflammation and acceleration of skin cell growth. Instead of falling off (shedding), the cells pile up on the surface of the skin, forming psoriatic plaques.
People with psoriasis typically experience patches of thick, red skin covered with silvery scales called plaques.
There are many kinds of psoriasis. The most common is Plaque Psoriasis. Other common types are Scalp Psoriasis and Nail Psoriasis. While there is no known cure for psoriasis, there are remedies that can help reduce and/or alleviate the condition. For many people psoriasis is a social stigma that causes pain, itching and emotional pain as well.(Also read “Basic Causes of Dry Skin” in our Suggested Home Remedies for DRY, ITCHY SKIN, Normal to Severe, on this website).

Where possible, it is best not to use any sort of soap or detergent on the skin at all. It would be better if one could clean their skin using whole oats by wrapping a hand full of whole oats in a cheese cloth or fine netting, tied with a string or rubber band. Soak the bag for 15 minutes before use. Use whole oats in the bathtub by bathing with it in cool or warm (never hot) water. Since the goal of any eczema is to restore hydration to the skin this is the perfect body scrub for anyone with this condition as it will sooth as well as restore the skins hydration. It helps bring down the inflammation from scratching, and helps the itching as well.
Dry skin can be caused by Internal and/or External Factors. There are several Internal factors that can greatly contribute to dry skin; Dehydration: Many people do not drink an adequate amount of water in a day. This can increase the risk of dry skin. While one is healing their dry skin they should drink extra water to promote faster healing. Hormones and Age: As one’s body changes many imbalances in the body can develop, including hormone imbalance as well as metabolic changes. These changes greatly affect ones skin. External Factors, as well as Extreme Weather Conditions and Over-Exposure to the Sun, are Chemicals, Soaps and Detergents which are the primary external reasons for Dry Skin. The unsuspecting villain however of many Skin Outbreaks and Dermatitis is plain ole SOAP. Most people wash their hands with soap 3X a day and most soaps have a high PH level of 8 to 11. Our outer layer of skin operates best with its PH between 4.0 to 6.0 so that using these high PH level soaps may clean the skin but also dry it out as well. Since it takes about 14 hours for the body to replace the acid covering on the skin, that soaps etc., remove, there is no chance that the skin can keep hydrated with the proper PH and fight back against the constant chemicals that are being put onto the skin. A low PH on the skin (or what’s called a hydrated skin) is what protects the skin from germs and fungus. The body produces the optimum skin covering when it is functioning normally and remains at the proper PH level unless tampered with by chemicals, detergents and high PH Soaps.

Basically Cracked Feet and Heels are caused by external factors, with the major cause being your everyday soap that has a high PH of 9-11. Soaps with a High PH remove the acid mantel(the protective covering that the body normally creates & excretes thru the skin). This acid mantel keeps your skin from becoming dry and is very important not only for the health of your feet but for your health in general. Sweat can cause germs and fungus, which in turn can also make your feet dry and cracked unless your body has a sufficient amount of acid mantel to prevent it. Skin, with the proper PH gives a sufficient protective covering that prevents fungus and germs from entering the body and also helps to prevent Dry Cracked Heels and Feet. Fungus and Germs need moist heat to grow and cannot live in an acidic environment.
First you’ll need a pumice stone or a pumice sponge. If you don't have a pumice sponge, you may use a loofah sponge The stone or sponge is to remove the "dead skin cells" that appear as white or gray callous on the heel. In order for
Cracked hands and Fingers are more common than you would think. There are many factors that cause this; common is the "Chemical burn" or "Alkaline burn". Not too many realize that in making paper products (cardboard and compressed board) there are chemicals used in the making of these that are very hard on the skin. Alkaline burns are from detergents and other cleaning products as well as hand sanitizers. Cracks in the finer tips are very painful, and annoying, and particles catch in the cracks, and cause pain.
If you have severe cracked hands, and lots of dead cells (white calloused skin) it may take you a few weeks to get stable relief as the dead skin cells prevent the penetration of most creams into the skin.
